Freelance WordPress Theme Developer (Remote / Work from Home)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Freelance WordPress Theme Developer to design, develop, and customize WordPress themes from scratch. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position for developers with strong PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills, capable of delivering responsive, SEO-optimized, and visually appealing themes independently.

Responsibilities:

• Develop custom WordPress themes according to client specifications.
• Customize existing themes to enhance functionality and design.
• Ensure themes are fully responsive and optimized for performance and SEO.
• Implement WordPress best practices, including hooks, filters, template hierarchy, and custom post types.
• Integrate themes with plugins and third-party APIs as needed.
• Troubleshoot and debug theme-related issues.
• Collaborate with designers and developers to implement UI/UX improvements.
• Maintain theme documentation and provide technical guidance for deployment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in WordPress theme development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress template hierarchy.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks and responsive design principles.
• Familiarity with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a freelance remote environment.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• A portfolio showcasing custom WordPress theme projects is required.
